Enterprise Account Leadership &
Multi-Program Creative Strategy
As Creative Director at ARC Worldwide/Frankel (Publicis Groupe), I headed up the multi-disciplinary creative relationship for Visa. In this enterprise leadership role, I partnered with cross-functional account directors to steer a vast portfolio of high-impact programs—ranging from universal Q4 national holiday promotions and global brand asset creation to high-net-worth experiential events and B2B merchant marketing ecosystems.
The Flagship Consumer Mandate: Q4 National Holiday
Promotions & The Disney Alliance
Every year, the single largest piece of work in the Visa portfolio was the Q4 holiday promotion. As the lead agency for consumer promotions, my team didn't just build localized assets; we were tasked with architecting the foundational creative theme adopted across North America as a massive national campaign. We engineered the promotional mechanics, concepted the gamified prize structures, and integrated emerging digital technologies to drive massive transactional volume during the highest-stakes retail window of the year.

-
The Disney Partner Ecosystem: A landmark execution under my tenure was a promotional co-branding partnership with Disney for their tentpole theatrical release, National Treasure. Rather than executing a standard logo-slap promotion, we drove deep contextual integration, collaborating with Disney to write the Visa card directly into the film’s narrative.
-
The Gamified Insight: Translating the cinematic experience into consumer behavior, we engineered an omni-channel sweepstakes built around the movie's central theme of decoding hidden clues and watching a hidden treasure accumulate over time. This high-engagement mechanic transformed standard credit card transactions into an interactive, gamified journey for the consumer.
Behind the Scenes: Out-Designing Hollywood
Our creative concept was engineered to perfectly mirror the film's theatrical poster, swapping our campaign's hero model directly into Nicolas Cage’s iconic pose. To elevate the sense of mystery and "treasure," we pushed the boundaries of premium print manufacturing—specifying metallic inks and utilizing highly specialized mirror paper to create a stunning, holographic depth in key focal spots.
When I brought the final press proofs to Disney Studios, the work caught the attention of Disney's Head of Marketing (who also wrote and executive produced the film). Looking at our collateral, he realized our promotional assets completely out-produced the movie's own theatrical poster. Refusing to let the official film posters look inferior next to our premium Visa campaign, they made an on-the-spot decision: Disney halted their production of their existing printed posters, and rushed an entire theatrical redesign to differentiate it from the elite visual benchmark our team had set.

The Omni-Channel Retail & Target-Segment Rollout
To support the national campaign, we developed a massive, multi-touchpoint print and point-of-purchase (POP) ecosystem designed to capture consumers at every step of their daily routines. The media plan seamlessly scaled across core, business, and multicultural audiences.
-
In-Store POP & Counter Takeovers: High-production In-Store Posters established the campaign's cinematic presence at retail, supported directly at checkouts by premium Counter Cards and durable Counter Mats placed directly where consumers signed their transaction receipts.
-
Daily Lifestyle Touchpoints: To capture off-premise engagement, we introduced custom Coffee Sleeves wrapped around morning commuter cups, driving awareness of the campaign's instant-win digital sweepstakes.
-
Audience Segmentation & Direct Mail: The campaign deployed targeted Statement Stuffers and tailored marketing inserts to isolate specific user segments. This included specialized creative variations for the main audience, Visa Business cardholders, and a dedicated Hispanic audience program that featured an entirely different, culturally resonant hero model to maximize authentic engagement.
-
The Physical-to-Digital "E-Decoder" Activation: To capture the crucial young-adult demographic, we created an interactive Door Hanger campaign for localized college dorm drops. Each hanger contained a physical, secret "E-Decoder" card. Recipients were incentivized to visit the campaign website daily and hold the physical transparent decoder up to their computer screens. The screen's hidden pixels would instantly illuminate through the filter, revealing whether they had unlocked that day’s "hidden treasure."
Visa Signature: High-Net-Worth Experiential Ecosystems
To engage Visa’s affluent, premium cardholder tier, our strategy moved past transactional utility to focus entirely on luxury brand advocacy and curated experiences. A definitive example of this was the multi-tier creative ecosystem engineered for the exclusive Visa Signature Golf Event at Pebble Beach.
-
The Strategic Truth: We leaned heavily into a fundamental consumer insight: to a golf enthusiast, Pebble Beach isn't just a venue—it is one of the most iconic, aspirational bucket-list courses in the world. We recognized that any collateral we designed needed to transcend temporary event information and become permanent, high-value memorabilia that attendees would cherish and frame long after the event concluded.
-
The Tangible Craftsmanship: We designed and orchestrated a sophisticated physical "Welcome Package" that served as the tactile touchstone for the entire weekend experience. Bypassing standard corporate collateral, we leaned into high-end editorial layouts, clean minimal typography, and iconic, large-format photography.
The comprehensive print suite featured a crisp, oversized outer welcome envelope, individualized itinerary letterhead, and custom co-branded Spanish Bay and Pebble Beach Golf Links yardage guides to offer attendees immediate, functional luxury value.

The emotional and visual anchor of the package was an intricate, multi-panel accordion-fold brochure. When fully extended, the piece revealed a seamless, sweeping panoramic view of the iconic 7th green, completely immersing the recipient in the physical environment of the upcoming event.
-
The 360-Degree Live Activation: The premium aesthetic extended directly into the physical environment. We designed cohesive, high-end wayfinding signage that blanketed both the luxury hotel property and the course itself, completely surrounding attendees in an immersive brand envelope. The curated weekend featured elite touchpoints, including a catered participant lunch and an exclusive opportunity for attendees to tee off alongside World Golf Hall of Fame legend Johnny Miller on one of Pebble Beach's celebrated signature holes.
The Day 1 Souvenir Phenomenon (And Tactical Foresight)
The ultimate validation of the campaign's success came at the conclusion of Day 1. The custom course signage and wayfinding pieces resonated so deeply with the premium aesthetic of the event that enthusiastic participants literally began dismantling and stealing the signs to take home as personal souvenirs. Because our team had anticipated this exact level of high-stakes passion, we had factored it into our operational strategy, seamlessly deploying an entire backup suite of matching signage overnight to ensure Day 2 executed without a single brand interruption.
Visa Small Business: B2B Merchant Marketing Strategy
While consumer promotions drove seasonal volume, the enterprise growth engine relied heavily on capturing the massive, underserved B2B commercial sector. I directed the creative strategy and design execution for a comprehensive, multi-tiered B2B sales enablement and marketing system designed to empower financial institutions to acquire, activate, and retain small business merchants.
-
The Strategic Reframing: Small business owners are notoriously fiercely independent, highly stressed, and deeply protective of their cash flow. The creative challenge was twofold: we needed to convince corporate banking partners of the staggering scale of this market, while simultaneously positioning Visa as an empathetic partner to the end entrepreneur. We summarized this dual objective with a singular, high-level guiding principle: “Every opportunity for them is an opportunity for you.”
The overarching program was housed in a premium, enterprise-grade B2B sales kit. The visual identity balanced clean corporate layout structures with vibrant, warm, authentic photography of diverse small business owners—such as florists, grocers, and mechanics—immediately grounding Visa’s complex financial infrastructure in real-world human utility.
-
The Data-Driven Insight: To establish immediate authority with institutional banking partners, we designed high-impact editorial spreads that transformed dense economic metrics into compelling, scannable narrative arguments.

We confronted the market directly, noting that while the sector is labeled "small business," it represented a massive $4 trillion commercial opportunity. By integrating sophisticated, high-clarity data visualizations into the layout, we visually demonstrated the critical gap in the market: showing that an overwhelming 93% of small business spend was still trapped in inefficient cash and checks, paving a clear, lucrative path for Visa card adoption.
-
The Modular Solution Ecosystem: Rather than offering a single, static brochure, we engineered an adaptive, multi-tier product framework that categorized credit, debit, and line-of-credit solutions tailored to different merchant lifecycle stages. The internal marketing architecture cleverly leveraged Visa's legendary sponsorship tier—including Disney, the Olympic Games, NASCAR, the NFL, and the Tony Awards—proving to local merchants that adopting Visa Business products instantly aligned their small operation with global, consumer-trusted brand ecosystems.
-
Proprietary Asset Production & Image Library: To truly scale the impact of this B2B initiative, our team realized that both Visa's regional offices and their individual banking partners lacked authentic, high-quality visual assets to market to local entrepreneurs. To solve this enterprise-wide gap, I spearheaded the concept and development of a proprietary Small Business Image Library for Visa.
We produced and curated an extensive, custom photography catalog showcasing real, diverse business owners in their natural commercial environments. Select flagship visuals from this custom library were featured natively throughout our B2B marketing toolkits, giving financial institutions a plug-and-play repository of trusted, on-brand imagery that drastically streamlined their local marketing lifecycles.
Co-Branded Infrastructure: The Visa & Disney Theme Park & Resorts
Master Image Library
Building on the success of our national consumer campaigns, I was tasked with solving a major global brand alignment challenge. Because Visa was the Official Card of Disney Parks & Resorts, a massive matrix of external global agencies, regional marketing offices, and corporate partners needed to constantly produce co-branded marketing collateral. However, they lacked a unified, high-quality visual asset ecosystem, leading to fragmented brand expressions.
-
The Solution: A Proprietary Asset System: I conceived, architected, and led the development of a proprietary, custom Visa & Disney master image library. This wasn't a standard stock aggregation; I spearheaded the end-to-end creative direction for a massive, complex, multi-day production photographed entirely on-site at Walt Disney World resorts.

Behind the Scenes: Unprecedented Access & Historic Firsts
Securing Disney's buy-in required navigating exceptionally strict, legendary brand guidelines. Because of the strength of the Visa and Disney relationship, our team was granted access to assets never before utilized by an external agency.
We secured the exclusive right to shoot with Disney's official Global Cinderella model—notably the only Cinderella character model permitted by the studio to be photographed face-on.
Furthermore, I served as the first creative director in history to commercially photograph inside the iconic Pirates of the Caribbean ride. The production team at Disney’s own internal agency, Yellow Shoes Productions, was amazed by the execution, noting that despite decades of operation, Disney had never actually shot commercial assets inside the ride ecosystem before.
-
The Enterprise Impact: We directed a full catalog of custom lifestyle, family, and experiential photography that seamlessly balanced the magical, emotional storytelling of Disney with the trusted, premium utility of Visa. Engineered for absolute scale, this curated asset repository was deployed globally across all agency networks, ensuring airtight visual consistency and brand precision across millions of multi-channel consumer touchpoints worldwide.
